First a bit of history, in a conversation with the late, great Bob Hawke, after a couple of really good reds and a few schooners of cleansing ale, I told him that he was the last Labor candidate for prime minister that I voted for as I thought then that he was the right man for the job that he was truly the man for the hour, I’ll never regret that decision as I think history has proven me right.
He was a man, a prime minister, an Australian with a great love of our country and possessed of a great vision for our future, our future, in the immediate sense but also he had a long term vision of where we could and should go forward into the coming years, years far beyond his term in office, prime examples are his great love and sense of pride in our capacity to produce great thinkers alongside great athletes, both of those two identities representing and doing us proud on the world stage.
Part of his vision was to see Australia taking it’s rightful place in it’s/our, geographical region, a vision shared by John Howard,.. ‘think locally’,.. while strengthening our financial security by smart use of our abundant natural resources, harnessing the work ethic and building strong local industry; example, we had the potentiality to became, with careful, clever rural management , the major food producer for the rapidly emerging Asian market, I remember, during my days at Midday, reading a paper released by the CSIRO that clearly stated that Australia had the potential to became the ‘Food Basket’ for the Asian region, their words not mine, in doing that we would become, along with the proper management of our coal, gas, uranium and other abundant mineral deposits, very quickly, a financial super power, that opportunity like so many others was squandered, missed and abandoned by small minded thinkers with no real long term vision for our country, the rot of short term thinking, to retain government, had taken root and has become the impediment to progress ever since, the era of brave long term visionaries came to an end, since then we have accepted weakness, mediocrity, abandonment and cowardice as the norm in our leaders, we have been betrayed by globalist devotees to their globalist NWO masters.
Back to Bob, I also told him on that occasion that I voted for John Howard for the same reason; both of these men were prime ministers for the time, both loved and vilified, both visionary and brave, taking on all comers, making decisions that shaped us all in days to come, not just their time at the helm, apart from Tony Abbot I have not voted for either major party candidate, for prime minister, since; on another note, Tony’s goose was cooked when he suggested that we revalue our relationship with the UN, a subject close to my heart but more on that later; : all men or women that rise to positions of power will be both loved and vilified, all of them driven, hopefully, by a dream, all of them gifted and flawed, no one can always be right or always wrong, all of us are human after all with strengths and weaknesses, and to have it any other way would be to have cold heartless, soulless, indifferent individuals in charge of our lives, our children’s lives and in charge of our countries’ destiny.!…There are some that say that has already come to pass!..I’m one of them!
Macrocosm; Just want to plant a few ideas that I believe are worthy of consideration, neither party has a long term plan, strategy, for our water, I know Bob did and I know John did but no mention of it in recent years; imagine, if you will, a land of immense extremities, devastating flooding rains but also large scale drought leading to gigantic destructive bush fires but neither party has a long term large scale plan on either of these extremities, so here’s an idea I put forward years ago,.. based on good common sense, how’s about we build many more dams to catch the free water gifted from mother nature, devise a gigantic, long term, plan to build a pipe way distribution system, of this free water being continually replenished, to feed agriculture, along with a human waste program treated to became fertilizer, the careful management of the water could not only safeguard existing farm land from drought but some could be used to open up new areas for cultivation using the treated human waste to fertilise previously non productive land, we could therefore move some of the population further inland, imagine the employment potential and yes, we would need new cities but we have the land if only we had the vision,..other countries do!,old ‘allies?’ ‘trading partners’ ‘geographical neighbours’, all have such vision but more on that later, while somehow we, our governments, seem to lack any forward thinking vision for our long term future. A potential bonus with those new dams would be that we could acquire an aging slow moving aircraft fleet, maintained around the country partly funded by the federal government and the state, modified to become water bombers in the time of need, these aircraft, able in an hours notice ,to be airborne and dropping tons of that free water onto fledgling bush fires would go a long way to contain the devastation caused by our bushfires!..does that make any or too much sense!?..interesting to note, at this time, that it is largely due to Greens that this plan won’t be considered as their policy is no more dams!..that’s interesting in it’s self isn’t it!..so chew on that one for a while.
Well, Brother’s and Sisters, that’s probably enough for now, don’t want to bore you with my rantings, on that note, please keep the comments and criticisms coming, nothing stirs me like a lively debate, I’m intending to write more in coming days as the coming election looms closer, this election has the potential to build or destroy our lives for the immediate, our country as we know it and the future of our children, these are those day that were predicted, the days when we unite and stand or we are weakened by division and we fall, so Stand Sure, love and light to you all, Ango.
